Jonah Hill’s Long Awaited [Possible] Adidas Collaboration Is Here
We all know & love Jonah Hill for his brilliance in cinema & in recent years becoming something of a streetwear darling, but Hill’s looking to expand his taste & talents into different creative mediums, which now includes shoe design via Adidas.
Since October of 2018, Hill’s been making the rounds at several high profile events & Adidas creation workshops, as a fan of work being shown & to promote his directorial debut, Mid90s, while teasing a potential collaboration. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve caught glimpses of a model, dubbed the Adidas Original LXCON in two colorways. The US Adidas site lists these colorways as Cloud White/Active Blue/Core Black & Clear Brown/Active Purple/Shock Red.
While it hasn’t been specified if this take on the design, specifically, is Jonah’s brainchild, he’s at least been given very early access & taken to the modesty & crossover appeal of the model. While the pictures above aren’t Jonah’s best fit pics by a long shot, we can all appreciate his loyalty to the model & attempt at displaying it’s versatility, at times pairing it with a suit & most other times a fittingly simple mostly-black ensemble.
The shoe, itself is a modern iteration of an OG model, which Adidas describes as
“Classic mesh construction structured by a unique TPU cable running from the heel to the vamp, combining with the shoe’s embroidered 3-Stripe mark to create an unorthodox lacing system. Contrast stitching details & welded details complete the picture, finished with the LXCON model’s striking adiPRENE midsole. The result is a shoe that combines the aggressive aesthetic of the past with contemporary style touches, culminating in a modern silhouette which could only have come from the Adidas archive.” -adidas.com
If one thing’s become apparent in recent years, it’s that Jonah’s coming into his own & feels he’s now in the position to be more selective about whom he chooses to collaborate, as well as associates himself with & it shows in his taste level. The LXCON is an appropriate model for Jonah to have taken a liking to & possibly even have modified, being that it was first of prominence in none other than…you guessed it…the Mid90s.
The Adidas Original LXCON will be available in both colorways, globally via adidas.com, retailing at $120, on February 2, 2019 at 9AM CST.
